Senior Manager, Patient Education and Communication Job

Job Description:

Reporting to the Senior Director of Market Access, the Patient Education and Communications role has the accountability to collaborate with independent patient organizations to develop and implement activities related to patient advocacy, disease awareness and education, and to develop and implement brand communication strategies consistent with Celgene's strategic objectives. This role will advance patient access to Celgene's life-enhancing therapies and drive recognition of the value of Celgene innovation through integrated strategies that maximize the impact of patient advocacy and external communications.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Build and maintain an effective network among leading national patient groups and coalitions
- Develop and implement a strategic, short and long-term, national plan related to patient education and advocacy consistent with commercial objectives
- Support and appropriately influence content of patient forums, aligned with our patient education goals
- Nurture a network of Celgene employees and supporters to implement advocacy efforts with key stakeholders and opinion leaders
- Identify emerging patient access trend issues and lead the development of a strategic and organized approach for advocating for patient-focused solutions
- Develop and implement strategic communications plans, that are integrated with the needs of the business unit and targeted to key stakeholder audiences, that will:
- Advance brand and disease awareness
- Broaden awareness of our programs, products and commercial priorities
- Develop specific communication tools and vehicles for the appropriate dissemination of information to patient community
- Identify external challenges and emerging issues faced by Celgene and work with team to recognize internal and external communications opportunities and solutions, and define and execute appropriate strategies to support them.

Job Requirements:


- Bachelors degree (BSc/BA)

- 10+ years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry, including experience in the area of stakeholder advocacy and communication
- High level skill and documented experience developing communication tools and strategic plans
- Demonstrated success in supporting patient access activities across complex multi product portfolios
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills required
- Excellent interpersonal, diplomatic and persuasive skills to market the company to the public and patient groups.
- Dedicated team member with positive attitude and ability to prioritize projects
- Ability to work independently and take the lead role on assigned projects
- Experienced in the review of consultant proposals, agency selection and coordination of advocacy campaigns with 3rd party supplier.
- PC literate including Word, PowerPoint, Excel skills
