The ideal candidate is known as a subject matter expert in several categories, including commercial and contracting strategies, supplier management, strategic partnering, and is considered a thought leader with professional credibility across critical categories.

The successful candidate will have extensive background and significant accomplishments in developing sourcing strategies for IT services, Professional Services, HR and several other categories as it relates to shared services.
The position operates as part of a collaborative team where there will be considerable interaction with stakeholders. The individual must be effective in working with stakeholders at all levels of the organization including senior leadership, with the goal of achieving significant value, cost optimization, partnering strategies, and continuous quality improvement of the supplier community. Also, should have previous team leadership experience or has had direct reports.

Key Job Responsibilities:

- Collaborates with stakeholders to develop overall strategic sourcing strategy to maximize value and effectiveness of strategic sourcing activities
- Work as a sourcing management business partner to both local and global IT leadership to identify key opportunities and business requirements, negotiate commercial terms and conditions, implement successful sourcing strategies, and engage in supplier lifecycle management
- Close collaboration with leaders in HR and Finance shared services to identify areas of value creation, supplier optimization, and communication strategies out to the organization. This includes process engineering and looking across the end to end continuum to enhance internal stakeholder and supplier experiences
- Provides leadership within the group and can effectively connect local needs to the global organizational strategies
- Takes the lead to develop value optimization strategies, total cost of ownership analytics and optimization, quality improvements, cost modeling, procurement related economics & financial analysis in support of our business partner strategies
With oversight of Global Strategic Sourcing Committee, manages strategic sourcing activities for category spend including:
- Lead the development of the supplier selection process, ensuring transparency in the process and compliance to Celgene Corporate Policies and best practices.
- Ensures consistent contract negotiation process
- Facilitate regular performance evaluation meetings with strategic sourcing providers and key stakeholders
- Responsible for periodic business review meetings with stakeholders and strategic sourcing providers
- Work with Finance to look for Category sourcing opportunities across the enterprise
- Providing education that influence the culture on the processes and techniques to maximize vendor value
- Partners with senior leadership to identify business needs and aligns strategic sourcing activities to those needs
- Provide executive updates on strategic plan and key sourcing performance metrics
- Build and maintain strong, mutually beneficial relationships with key suppliers and business partners
- Drive value through risk mitigation, supplier base consolidation programs, Enterprise Partner of Choice program and global spend leveraging efforts
- Implement industry best practices by capitalizing on relationships with both internal and external partners and practicing market vigilance
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Legal Department.

Job Requirements:


Desired Skills and Experience

- University Degree or equivalent,
- 10+ years' experience in Strategic Sourcing in a multinational environment (pharmaceutical industry preferred)
- Proven track record of successful strategic sourcing projects in the area of IT, HR and Financial Services a plus
- Direct line management, or matrix management leadership
- Deep understanding of technology sourcing needs in IT, HR and Financial Services
- Demonstration of business acumen, managing vision and strategic agility
- Excellent communication, presentation & negotiation skills
- Sound financial analysis skills
- Project Management proficiency
- Experience with e-Sourcing tools
- Good working knowledge of Strategic Sourcing process and methodology
- Demonstrated skills in developing/ setting sourcing strategies, identification of service providers, issuing Requests for Information/Requests for Proposal (RFI/RFP) and performing analysis
- Relationship Management skills
- Able to travel,
- Fluency in English (advanced level), any additional European language a plus.
