Overview
This role is responsible for supporting the SMA (Spinal Muscular Atrophy) EU+ leadership team in creating the EU+ specific launch strategy, building and executing the go to market operational model and preparing for a competitive launch in 2017. The role will be high paced and rewarding and will include:

- Running key strategic and operational planning workshops involving Global, Regional and Local experts.

- Working with the Head of Business Operations and EU+ SMA functional leads to determine the critical tactical and operational activities required to execute the strategy and prepare for launch.

- Development and/or cloning of key internal processes and mechanisms to ensure the SMA business operates efficiently at local / affiliate level. Examples of key processes include materials review process for SMA

- Preparing and running the EU+ launch operations team and the creation and management of effective launch readiness tracking tools and processes that are aligned with the Global SMA launch tracking processes.

- Supporting the Head of Business Operations in optimizing the launch budget.

Responsibilities

Support the creation and execution of an EU+ specific SMA launch strategy and operations plan
Support the preparation and execution of cross functional strategy planning sessions to define the key launch success factors for SMA in EU+. This will include:

- Working with the Head of Operations, functional leads and other subject matter experts (SME) to prepare and run the strategic planning workshops.

- Researching, reviewing and synthesizing the available internal and external content to prepare compelling workshop content. Working with external SMEs as necessary to bring new information

- Helping to prioritize key activities based on objectives

- Preparing concrete recommendations and materials to define the strategy and move the group to action

- Synthesizing the final outputs into a concrete summary and clear plan to be shared with key stakeholders across the company

Pre-launch tactical and operations planning

- Support the Head of Operations in developing the launch readiness plans for EU+ SMA team

- Provide central collaboration point for all launch teams monitoring the progress towards goals, analyzing data, ensuring follow-through on the part of key players, sustaining momentum needed to drive these initiatives and provide necessary updates to key internal stakeholders (e.g. HR/Finance as appropriate)

- Support the preparation and execution of the bi-weekly SMA EU+ European Launch Operations meetings/workshops, drive content creation and as required, work with subject matter experts to prepare and deliver content materials

- Work with the leads of Global and US launch planning to develop a clear tracking process for providing timely updates on local and regional launch preparation activities

- Work with Regional SMA Leads in each country to track and manage progress in setting up their affiliates, managing their budgets and preparing for launch. Ensuring alignment of regional SMA initiatives with local realities (processes).

EU+ communications and stakeholder management:

- Oversee and manage the flow of information across functions including the business and planning process, strategic management meetings, communications and reporting.

- Develop processes for capturing, cataloging, analyzing and disseminating key lessons to be learned from regional and affiliate based initiatives. Assist in developing communications between group meetings, setting agendas, creating initial drafts of communications, helping to prioritize plans for addressing issues that are impacting progress

Job Requirements:

Qualifications
- 10-15 years of pharmaceutical/health care sales / commercial experience and successful track record in commercial/ business operations management (ideally also decision-analytics)
- A solid understanding of the multi-faceted aspects surrounding operational launch readiness for EU+
- Experience in launch readiness in rare disease and/or launch experience is highly desirable
- Excellent project and process management as well as strategic agility
- Interpersonal savvy, excellent communication and presentation skills
- Strong action orientation drive for results and problem solving skills
