Job Description:

Reporting to the Director of Audit, the Regional Internal Audit Lead will be responsible for assisting the Director of Internal Audit with the creation of a satellite audit office located in Zug Switzerland, including the recruitment of staff. Ongoing responsibilities will include the oversight of 1-2 staff, assist in the development of an annual risk based audit plan as well as the execution, oversight and reporting of internal audits related to the company's operations, principally in Europe. The company's European Operations include two manufacturing facilities, research and development activities, commercial affiliates and distributors accounting for over $2B in sales as well as regional administrative and support functions located within the company's European Headquarters located in Zug.
The Internal Audit organization is responsible for providing assurance to executive and functional management on the adequacy of the internal controls and governance practices as well as the effective use of Company resources. The organization also assesses adherence to Corporate and Finance Policies and Procedures as well as local laws, regulations and industry codes. Individual Internal Audit projects are executed through the identification of compliance, operational and financial risk areas, development and completion of audit test plans and the communication of observations and recommendations to enhance the control and risk governance environment.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications
- Experience within a 'Big 4' organization is of strong preference
- Direct line management is an essential criteria for the position
- Work experience should indicate progressively more responsibility
- Life Sciences industry and non-audit experience considered to be a significant plus. Exposure to a manufacturing environment is essential
- Ability to travel up to 60% within Europe with occasional trips to the US Other attributes and skills include: o Excellent organizational and project management skills o Excellent written and verbal communication skills - ability to communicate the facts, context and implications of a complex issue clearly, succinctly and as simply as possible o Ability to quickly zero in on the critical few items and put trivial many aside o Experience developing, coaching and providing feedback to staff o Strong analytical skills o Detail oriented, able to multitask and meet deadlines o Self-motivated, able to work in a team and independently o Strong understanding of core accounting concepts and working knowledge of US GAAP o Experience identifying issues, performing root cause analysis, relevant business risks and presenting to senior management EducationBachelors Degree in Accounting, Masters a plus. Professional certifications should include Chartered Accountant, CPA, CIA or CISA.
