Job Description:

The Associate Director, Thought Leader Liaison is responsible for leading a field based account team focused on the top Key Opinion Leader's in MS and managing all operations related to 1/2 of the United States. The AD actively participates in the development of strategic & tactical plans and executes those plans to meet or exceed organizational goals specifically related to KOL engagement. The AD is responsible for managing corporate initiatives and projects (both large and complex) across different departments with a strong understanding of corporate policies and regulations Working cross functionally the AD drives the strategy for the geography, including hiring, training & development, resource planning & als, and overall performance management of the TLL team.

Primary Accountabilities

- Lead a team of six TLLs

- Shape promotional content by providing the perspective of the customer through formal and informal engagements in the field inclusive of pre-market products.

- Establishment of a best in class speaker's bureau. The individual will be responsible to help inform selection, train, advocate for, coach & remediate as needed members of the bureau. Additionally to define measures to gauge speaker effectiveness.

- Lead the execution of commercial Ad Boards .This involves input on needs assessment development, vendor management, and recruitment based on the specific requirements identified in the needs assessment, as well as, on site program facilitation. Additionally, it will be the responsibility of the AS to align strategy with Medical Affairs to avoid duplication of effort and to collaborate on projects
Serve as the commercial lead at all relevant congresses and ensure Biogen's presence reflects its market leadership. Specifically this individual will work collaboratively to create a unified point of view expressed through multiple channels. The individual will also be responsible to lead a cross functional debrief following each day and to track KOL engagements at each event

Job Requirements:

Qualifications
- Three years of experience leading teams (2+ functions preferred)
- Three years of experience calling on KOLs with a demonstrated track record of building advocacy
- Strong presentation skills. Ability to clearly and succinctly convey his/her ideas to either groups or individuals
- Advanced understanding of Biogen's culture. Knowledgeable in current and possible future policies, practices, trends, technology, and information affecting his/her business and organization
- Ability to lead within the matrix. Knows how to get things done both through formal channels and the informal network
- Strategic thinker. Understands the origin and reasoning behind key policies, practices, and procedures
- Exceptional business and clinical acumen. Knows the competition, is aware of how strategies and tactics work in the marketplace.
- Ability to work independently to execute vs. multiple strategic projects simultaneously under tight timelines
- Advanced understanding of compliance with OIG & regulatory requirements.
- Comfort around higher management. Understands how senior leaders think and work, can determine the best way to get things done with them by talking their language and responding to their needs
