Job Description:

Senior Director Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy (P&RS) will manage a Specialty Medicines or Neurodegeneration therapeutic area team responsible for leading the Global development of pricing and reimbursement strategy for multiple pipeline and/or marketed products in the Biogen portfolio. This position reports directly into the VP of Pricing & Reimbursement Strategy and is a member of the Global Market Access organization. Each Therapeutic Area Lead (this position is one of 3) is responsible for leading and guiding strategic planning to support value and access optimization for molecules in development as well as life-cycle planning and access support for in-line assets. Additionally, the team is responsible for global strategic pricing, including recommendations for global price bands and launch sequence. The role will also oversee various cross-portfolio assessments (e.g. projects that advance knowledge of and readiness for the global payer environment, explore new payer trends, assessments to support business development), develop pricing & reimbursement capabilities and further develop a high performing team with effective cross-functional/cross-Regional working relationships.
Therapeutic Area Leadership

- Lead team responsible for pricing & reimbursement strategy development within cross-functional, cross-regional commercialization process to ensure payer needs and perspectives are embedded

- Collaborate closely with HEOR, Regional Market Access & Pricing, Policy/Advocacy, Affiliates, Marketing and Clinical Development counterparts to ensure value and access optimization

- Serve as Functional lead on therapeutic area steering committees which govern asset teams for both in-line and pipeline molecules

- Accountable for supporting and communicating TA strategy to GMAx Leadership team and Biogen leadership

Asset development

- Develop Global access and pricing strategies for early and late-stage pipeline molecules including generation of global value proposition and messages, detailed forecast assumptions, global price bands and launch sequence, support strategies with in-depth market research, environmental data & analogs

- Provide payer pricing & access assumptions for business development and emerging opportunities

- Interact with internal/external experts in pricing, health economics, patient advocacy, health technology assessment authorities, government policy makers and payers as required to execute P&R project objectives

Capability building

- Support build of global price infrastructure and analytics capability including staffing, development of new pricing tools and innovative pricing & contracting methodologies

- Establish processes and support for embedding pricing systems into ex-US infrastructure and align with finance and Regional business processes

- Advance and guide therapeutic area activities regarding global price policy development, governance, innovative pricing mechanisms and pricing capabilities and systems implementation

People

- Manage a high performing team ensuring goals and development plans are in place and met

- Effectively manage TA budget

- Provide training within GMAx and across functions as required regarding technical pricing & reimbursement knowledge and methods

- Demonstrate ability to motivate others in the P&RS team

- Understand capability and activity gaps in individuals and the TA team in order to enable continuous improvement
