The Associate Director / Sr. Manager, Global Strategic Forecasting is a senior leader of the Global Forecasting & Analytics function within Global Commercial Excellence & Operations (GCE&O). The team is a strategy consulting group within Biogen that drives global strategy development and Biogen planning for in-line and pipeline products across multiple therapeutic categories.

This individual will play a critical role in the success of the forecasting function and as such will be a highly visible commercial interface with Biogen senior leadership globally and cross functionally. S/he will work with the global Biogen leads playing a proactive role in the assessment of the commercial strategy for Biogen's key brands, work with very senior management on confidential strategic projects to support decisions and will be critical in driving improvements in commercial forecasting at Biogen.

At an overall level, the individual is responsible for innovation, creation and establishment of a global long-term forecast platform and forecasting best practices that will drive, inform and advise the global commercial strategy of Biogen. The individual will be responsible for owning and communicating the long-term outlook and vision (2030+ horizon) for Biogen's most important late stage and inline assets, including: market evolution, competitive landscape, target strategic segments and patient flow dynamics.

Key responsibilities include:
1) Build and refine the forecasting platform for Biogen's portfolio and continually improve its scope and accuracy (e.g., simulation of complex market dynamics and patient flows, development and communication of good forecasting practices)

2) Generate insights that help refine global Biogen strategies for inline / pipeline Biogen product(s) through creative targeted analyses that assess prospective strategic levers and sensitivities

3) Provide content expertise and problem-solving to very senior Corporate customers (e.g., CFO, Head of Commercial Operations, Global Asset and Business Unit Leads, etc.) helping to shape key strategic decisions

4) Serve as Commercial Lead for assigned brand and/or market for the Strategic Forecasting Trajectory (SFT), Biogen's annual long range planning process

5) Act as a central point of expertise and drive collaboration with affiliates offering advice on key strategic questions and forecasting methodologies

6) Provide context and forecasting support to cross-functional partners (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain) to ensure the potential impact of Commercial Biogen strategies are well understood and planned for

7) Support the development of a world-class strategic forecasting function by helping to set its core objectives and improve team operations (e.g., capabilities, processes, and tools)

Job Requirements:

Qualifications
- Experience working within or providing strategic consulting for Pharma / Biotech / Medical Devices is a must
- Great strategic problem solving and communication skills and ability to work with senior management
- Highly collaborative - must be able to navigate, manage the needs and drive effective partnerships with individuals and teams across the organization
- Proven knowledge and proficiency in forecast modeling platforms and tools. MS Excel proficiency is a must. Previous use of patient flow or related complex models is a plus
- Experience in global markets for Pharma / Biotech / Medical Devices and understanding of local market dynamics, data sources, etc. Education
- BA/BS required
