Job Summary:

Responsible for driving MetLife Auto & Home (MAH) commercial lines (CL or "Link") sales. Establish sales objectives by forecasting and developing annual sales quotes, projecting expected sales volume and profit for existing and new products. Strategies implemented will be based on deep understanding of Small Commercial: products, industry and marketplace. The role's primary focus is to ensure the Field has the competency to effectively deliver the MAH Link product portfolio to MAH independent and career agency plants.

This position will share achieving the Retail CL sales and profitability objectives with the Regional Vice Presidents.

Position includes all aspects of people management, including talent acquisition, development, retention and disposition.

Functional Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the development of sales programs by developing field sales action plans.
  • Overseeing agency compensation for all channels and sub-sets including National Accounts. It also includes:
    • Base Commissions
    • Promotions/Incentives and
    • Contingencies
  • Service as a relationship manager for the largest and most complex relationships
  • Manages, coaches, and develops personnel involved in communication and implementation of business strategy
  • Proactive review of market place, competitor and industry trends
  • Coordinate the development and implementation of sales activities through Key Partnerships and functional departments (Pricing, Product, Training, etc.). Providing regular report-outs/updates presented to the field and senior leadership

Supervisory Responsibilities: Full people management responsibilities, including hiring, firing, promotions, performance and compensation management, and training and development.

Job Requirements:

  • 7 + years related sales experience with concentration in Commercial Lines
  • 3+ years in a leadership position with sales & profit responsibility for commercial insurance products
  • P & C License

Preferred Qualifications

  • College degree, Master's degree and/or MBA
  • Strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Ability to travel, as this role will require approximately 60% travel
  • Ability to build relationships and work in a matrix structure
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Skilled in Coaching, mentoring and developing direct reports, creating a high performing team that can react quickly to the needs of our customer, enable increased performance and focus on continuous process improvement.
  • Strong work ethic and talent for bringing creative solutions to the table to solve challenging problems.
  • Self-motivated to learn more about the business and is proactive in personal development.
