Job Summary

This team member will be responsible for database development and data management used for preparing monthly, quarterly and annual investment reporting, primarily fixed income and equity securities, primarily for regulatory reporting. This team member also provides analysis, researches and adjusts for ledger to sub-ledger differences. This team member participates in special projects related to process improvements, process flow and system issues to prevent risk of inaccurate reporting.

Primary Position Functions





  • Prepare securities disclosures for the Federal Reserve and the International Association of Insurance Supervisors.
  • Respond to questions from external and internal auditors, middle office and financial reporting teams regarding securities reporting.
  • Design, build and operate databases.
  • Work with large data sets from both within and external sources.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and document business requirements.
  • Develop accurate and timely ad hoc reports.
  • Analyze business critical data and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain accurate, meaningful and updated technical and non-technical documentation pertaining to all aspects of responsibilities.
  • Provide the necessary on the job training and development of associates within the team.

Job Requirements:

Education Requirements and Technical Skills

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance or other related fields
  • 4 - 7 years of database development and maintenance experience
  • Strong knowledge of MS Access
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (macros, pivot tables and advanced formulas)
  • Expert data management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Investment experience preferred
  • Experience with financial reporting systems (PAM and Hyperion preferred)
