Research market data and develop, communicate and help implement creative solutions at global, regional and local levels. Programs should target health-related cost drivers and trends in a cost-effective way, effectively fitting within local coverage terms and operational capabilities. Solutions should be aligned with sales, revenue and profitability goals, but also enhance the organization's competitive well-being position in the marketplace

Job Requirements:

  • Research programs and initiatives that Multinational Companies and Global Insurers are implementing to address health issues among their respective populations, focusing on not just structure and objectives, but also costs and outcomes.

  • Research global best-practice terms and conditions, including policy language, related to Preventive Health and Wellness Programs within the context of group medical insurance, as they may differ in various market conditions.

  • Maintain and regularly update the MAXIS Global Wellness Capabilities Grid, a marketing tool to provide a comprehensive and compelling overview of our global wellness initiatives.

  • Regularly study local claims data and MAXIS-produced dashboard reports to identify and monitor diagnostic cost drivers across MetLife markets.

  • Make recommendations to VP of Global Healthcare and Global Medical Director on potential health and wellness programs that could be implemented locally or regionally to mitigate cost drivers.Recommendations should be classified across 4 levels of potential "engineering":

  • Education & Awareness

  • Prevention & Screening

  • Intervention Programs

  • Behavioral Change Programs

  • Source / create and ultimately produce "generic" Education & Awareness content that could be made available to local carriers for easy distribution.This should include the design and production of regularly produced Health Newsletters that can be made available to local MetLife markets.

  • Source / create and ultimately produce "generic" Prevention & Screening content that could be made available to local carriers for easy distribution.This should include the design and production of "How-To" kits for initiatives that include Health Fairs, Flu / Mammogram campaigns, etc.

  • Work with Global and local stakeholders to identify, design or contract out for Intervention Programs that address targeted illnesses or conditions.

  • Provide strategic support and evaluation of health and wellbeing tools, including vendor review and implementation support of targeted Intervention Programs and Behavior Change Programs in local markets.

  • Coordinate the contract management and relationship of any global / regional corporate arrangements with web or app-based tools to address health issues.

  • Promote MetLife knowledge and capabilities internally by coordinating with HR and their global Wellness Champions on wellness program ideas and content.Create an internal Wellness Forum for to share knowledge and best-practice approaches with local MetLife carriers and product lines.

  • Promote MetLife's position and reputation externally as a leader in global Health & Wellness through external speaking engagements, supporting global, thoughtful and coordinated activities, including the following:

  • Speaking at conferences and workshops related to health and wellness programs

  • Presenting the case for MetLife to key employers, emphasizing MetLife's leadership, current capabilities and vision forward with respect to Wellness Programs.

  • Providing occasional advice and counseling to key MNC clients on their own global wellness strategies

  • Assist local and global sales teams in generating / maintaining group medical business with:

  • Wellness responses to questions for RFPs or beauty pageant / finalist presentations

  • Insight on / recommendations to specific client Wellness questions and issues

  • Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate internal / external project teams related to wellness programs and provide guidance to lower level staff.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced knowledge of functions, systems, and processes related to private medical insurance

  • Advanced knowledge of effective health and wellness programs

  • 10+ years of related work experience, preferably global

  • Master level degree in a related field (e.g. Public Health) preferred

  • Foreign language skills recommended
