Job Description

The Financial Planning Director works closely with the Firm management team led by the Managing Partner. The Financial Planning Director (FPD) will work with Financial Planners and Financial Planning infrastructure to drive fee based financial planning activity, establish a fee based planning culture, create Firm goals for plans, fees and implementation and align all appropriate Firm resources to the financial planning vision and process.

Primary Responsibilites:

  • Train and certify new Planners on fee based financial planning process. Provide ongoing training, support and most importantly accountability to existing Financial Planners.
  • Effectively demonstrate the fee based financial planning process with a new Planner's prospects and clients. It is expected that FPD will be involved with new Planners on live cases to help build their skills faster and give them feedback and coaching.
  • Involved in Firm recruiting of EXP Financial Planners.
  • Establish and track firm goals in regards to fee based planning activity (new plans, update plans, fees and implementation).
  • Hire/manage Firm infrastructure in the development of comprehensive and situational financial plans.
  • Effectively integrate product specialists and support to drive plan implementation.
  • Interact with Corporate Financial Planning team and other Financial Planning Directors to keep abreast of best practices, platform enhancements and quality of advice standards.
  • Knowledge/Skills:

    • Minimum of five years experience working in fee based planning environment
    • Demonstrated success in improving planner performance.
    • Demonstrated track record of following compliance policies, principles and procedures. Clean compliance record.
    • Consistently behave in a manner that exemplifies ethical conduct.
    • Complete Financial Planning Trainer certification.
    • Knows and can teach the MetLife's financial planning process, strong understanding of company financial planning platform.
    • Experience in setting and holding team accountable to specific metrics and goals.
    • Strong company product knowledge awareness.
    • Involved in at least one industry organization.

    Job Requirements:

    • Series 7 is must, Series 24, 65 and/or 66 preferred
    • Fully licensed and registered for applicable functional responsibilities and in all assigned states where required by state law.
    • Registered as an Investment Adviser Representative (Series 65 or 66, where required)
    • CLU, ChFC, MBA, or other designation or degree, or in the process of obtaining one.
    • CFP or enrollments in CFP program with completion of Part 1 within 6 month with full completion within 2 years from hire date.

    Required Education

    4 year college degree or equivalent.
