THE ROLE: The Vice President, Global Technology & Operations - Portfolio, Program & Project Management leads the advancement of MetLife's PPM Capabilities. This role provides expertise in best practices, framework(s) implementation, organizational transformation, service and operating model design, performance management, process improvement, financial and program risk assessments to the enterprise of MetLife. This role is accountable for our Project Management Framework, Agile CoE, SDLC, all PPM Toolset and Reporting functions, defines and develops enterprise-wide project management practices, governance standards, processes and metrics.

The position is accountable to understand and deliver the alignment of people, processes and technology to achieve strategic goals and objectives for MetLife.

Key Responsibilities:

PPM Capability Roadmap
Owns the strategic roadmap for maturing MetLife's PPM capabilities. Partners with stakeholders across the globe to ensure a shared vision and strategy for delivery excellence. Puts in place an interaction model to enable accelerated capability delivery, agility and collaboration.


Living the Standards
Promotes the adoption of processes, templates, tools and metrics to ensure successful completion of projects. Leads our integrated efforts to change the way our project teams work as One MetLife, while working on projects to change the way MetLife delivers value to our customers.

Measure the Progress
Understands the expected outcomes from PPM Capability Roadmap, and develops measures to track progress in an actionable environment. Mature and refine an appropriate level of quantitative and qualitative measures. Provides effective decision frameworks and support. Create feedback loops for continuous improvement.


Organizational Change Leadership
Focus on the people side of change. Provide leadership to ensure change is managed effectively - willing, ready and able. Create and implement change management strategies to yield, higher utilization and greater proficiency of the changes that impact employees in the organization.

Job Requirements:

Business Knowledge/Technical Skills:

  • 15-20+ years of experience, preferably financial services industry.
  • Bachelor's degree and related field experience required, Advanced degree preferred.
  • Demonstrable experience planning and managing a project portfolio of greater than $100M annual spend.
  • Demonstrable experience planning and managing multiple projects of $50M or more in spend.
  • Organizational Change Management expertise.
  • Excels at leading distributed, global teams.
  • Contributes to a culture of innovation, collaboration, and partnership with a willingness to proactively coach, facilitate, share knowledge, and be the role model and advocate for a changing organization.
  • PMP or PgMP preferred.
  • PMI-ACP or CSM|CSP preferred
