Summary of Responsibilities:

The individual will be responsible for providing information to ensure service storage performance across the IT Infrastructure to meet Storage Level Objects and SLAS in a cost efficient manner through regular storage reporting, analysis and optimizations.

List of Responsibilities:

  • Ensure service storage performance is meeting customer demand, SLOs and SLAs.
  • Provide storage performance reporting including metrics selection and definition.
  • Support ad hoc data queries to the storage performance database.
  • Perform monthly storage performance reporting for the target environment.
  • Respond to storage performance issues and provide in-depth analysis to resolve storage performance issues.

Job Requirements:

Required Expertise:

  • 2+ years proven experience in EMC IT Storage infrastructure planning and development
  • 2+ years knowledge of EMC IT Storage infrastructure SAN (VMAX, VNX, ISILON), NAS, Connectrix, virtualization, thin provisioning, storage pools, FAST, etc.
  • 2+ years understanding virtualization technologies such as Vmware and AIX platforms
  • 2+ years experience with using EMC storage tools such as ECC, SRM, Watch4Net or Unisphere
  • 2+ year's experience working in a collaborative team environment with the ability to adapt to new solutions and directions

Preferred Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline preferred or equivalent work experience required.
  • Ability to prioritize and execute tasks in a high pressure environment
  • Self-starter with ability to conduct research into issues and products as needed
  • Knowledge of operating systems (Windows, Linux, AIX, series) queries relating to configurations and performance.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and exceptional customer service orientation.
