The Ariba Downstream Administrator reports to the Assistant Vice President of Procurement Systems and is responsible for supporting the organization in delivering global technology solutions that enable the services provided by Global Procurement to the MetLife Enterprise and that help the organization adhere to the global policies and procedures. The incumbent's key focus is the implementation management, administration and on-going support of the Downstream technology platformsfor global spend management (eProcurement). These technologies together make up the MetLife Global Procurement Platform (GPP) and are being provided by the Ariba OnDemand solutions. The GPP is being deployed in material country operations around the world.

This role will also be responsible for developing partnerships with IT Application Development and key business unit leaders. This position requires an experienced professional with sound business judgment and an understanding of procurement processes and technology on a Global scale.

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Provide deployment management, administration and support for the Ariba OnDemand Procure to Pay solution.
  • Assist in managing vendor partners for the deployment of the P2P solution.
  • Assist in setting the global standards for the configuration and usage of the Downstream deployments of GPP.
  • Communication to Leadership & Stakeholders re Accomplishments, Deliverable Status & Challenges
  • Work alongside the Global Procurement Systems team to provide support and guidance to the end users and business partners. As well as provide input into the global support model and organizational structure.
  • Lead the operational analysis to identify errors, user training needs, efficiency trends, and end user customer satisfaction issues. Identify root cause and implement improvements that might require influencing organizations outside of Global Procurement that rely on the Global Procurement systems to change down/upstream processes
  • Management of the development of user procedures, guidelines and documentation. Train clients on new processes/functionality and systems functionality
  • Managing and provide direction for testing efforts associated with deployments. Perform and test Ariba configuration activities to ensure desired results are achieved.
  • Collaborate with Enterprise IT/AD to deliver technology solutions to Global Procurement
  • Collaborate with Enterprise (AP, HR, Finance) and improve transaction process, create efficiencies and ensure a disciplined and centralized process to manage data and functionality modifications
  • Manage and support other Global Procurement Systems initiatives as assigned. Work with leadership to identifying resources needed, develop project plans, and identify stakeholders.
  • Coaching of junior staff where appropriate

Up to 50% travel (significant international travel may be required)



Job Requirements:



Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Technology, Management Information Systems, Computer Science, Supply Chain Management, similar studies or commensurate experience.
  • 3+ Year's Experience working with Ariba Procure to Pay

Desired Skills:

  • Global experience and perspective of business environment and technology
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint
  • Strong knowledge of Ariba eProcurement platforms
  • High degree of problem solving and decision-making ability
  • Must function well in a team environment
  • Must able to work in diverse environments and adhere to highest ethical standards
  • Needs excellent Relationship building, influencing, communication and presentation skills.
  • Organizational and multi-tasking skills, advance planning and time management skills a must
  • Ability to perform in complex cross-functional, global, business environments and handle multiple tasks successfully
  • Strong active listening and facilitation skills
  • Flexibility and the ability to adapt to change required
