Job Description

This person will be the Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) for MetLife's Enterprise Infrastructure and Architecture (EI&A) group's vendor engagements and negotiations including an understanding of the operational, financial and contractual aspects. Includes partnering with Global Procurement during contract negotiations and the EI&A vendors to manage the EI&A strategy and deliverables. Acts as the day to day spokesperson for the SVP of Engineering in vendor transactions.

The successful candidate will have experience evaluating financial saves either in capital/run rate/cost reduction/etc., and explain impact and meaning to the executive stakeholders.

List of responsibilities

  • Requires the ability to lead and motivate project team members who are not direct reports as well as provide work direction to less senior staff members.

  • Responsible for developing EI&A requirements prior to contract negotiations.

  • Responsible for ensuring stakeholders are meeting commitments to ensure accurate and timely data during negotiations.

  • Acts as Point of Contact between Global Procurement and EI&A during contract negotiations.

  • Assists stakeholders in identifying service requirements.

Job Requirements:

Required expertise

  • 5+ years broad IT experience including hardware, software, and/or services.

  • 5+ years of strong negotiation experience, strong financial acumen, and presentation experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience. Computer or business field preferred.

  • Comprehensive understanding of infrastructure environments.Strong business acumen including financial controls, cost/benefit analyses, budget planning, etc

  • Very strong communications & presentation skills, both verbal & written.Ability to interact with executive leadership with accountability to deliver on high-level objectives.

  • Will consider large real estate and/or union negotiation backgrounds.
