Job Description:

We're looking for a Platform Lead to join the ASOS technology team and lead and own the design, development and operations of a platform (e.g. Basket and checkout, loyalty, community, CRM) within the wider ASOS technology landscape. This critical role is part of the department's leadership team and reports directly to the head of the department.

You will:

  • Contribute to, agree and continuously review the roadmap with the product manager for the platform and make sure it meets both business and technology objectives maximizing the benefits for ASOS.
  • Be accountable for planning and delivery of the platform backlog / services, working closely with the relevant business product manager(s) and appropriate stakeholders
  • Drive the identification of features and functional enhancements within the platform which can support the improvement in conversion, value, revenue, profitability and customer satisfaction.
  • Drive the platform agenda to ensure an internationally enabled platform is designed and delivered to support the business growth ambitions.
  • Ensure all aspects of the platform are addressed, including scalability, security, maintainable and supportability
  • Identify opportunities for technical innovations which add value to the platform and / or business objectives.
  • Work closely with other platform teams / project management / release management which may be dependent on / impacted by changes in the platform scope or technical implementation
  • Drive the day-to-day operations, monitoring and maintenance of the platform to ensure reliable, predictable and efficient service.
  • Proactively monitor production performance to help guide future development and opportunities for technical or functional improvement
  • Provide leadership to their team of Development Manager's, Business Analysts, Solution Architects and Engineers.
  • Own and continuously improve the software development process including testing, build and deployment and code quality
  • Embrace and advocate Agile ways of working in technology and the wider business team

Job Requirements:

Skills and Experience required:

  • A credible influencer with strong background in delivery/Programme Management
  • Experience working in a mobile focused ecommerce environment and an understanding in one or more of: loyalty, community, CRM, Ecommerce software platforms (in-house or external)
  • Experience leading both internal and external development teams
  • Experience working with SaaS vendors
  • Experience managing international programmes
  • Strong financial/budget management experience
