About You: Experience of leading multiple teams & projects, working with Agile methodologies and practices Technical Leadership Great communication skills The Role: The role is about driving testing across the teams and ensuring a high level of quality is delivered from the Development Teams. It's about helping testers grow on a professional level and leading by example. It's about thinking about the bigger picture and helping grow and advance the technical competencies. Lead and mentor other testers across the organisation Provide technical advice and guidance to teams around test strategies for both manual and automated tests Work with other leads to help us improve our overarching Test Strategy Provide technology leadership by sharing knowledge with others Advise teams with regards to development standards, frameworks and guidance to maintain consistency throughout the software development lifecycle Recruit awesome testers Helping to ensure quality software is delivered by the development teams About The Technology: At ASOS we employ some of the latest technologies to drive a groundbreaking customer experience. We use Microsoft Azure to host a number of Services and RESTful APIs to offer scalable solutions, we use SiteCore to deliver an engaging customer experience, Hadoop to provide unique and personalized recommendations and Android & iOS apps to be at the fingertips of our customers. To achieve this and to deliver quality, the right testing frameworks need to be in place, these include: Microsoft Technology Stack (Visual Studio, TFS, MTM) to tie everything together nUnit, Jasmine to help provide a solid unit testing framework Selenium WebDriver, SpecFlow, C# to test the UI with a BDD approach RestSharp to test the APIs and Services.

Job Requirements:

  • Team development - coaching, mentoring, leadership
  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
  • A good understanding of Test Driven Development and/or Behaviour Driven Development
  • A good understanding of how to best design automated testing across application layers using UI, API, Integration and Unit tests
  • Expert knowledge of Test Automation across the Pyramid and implementing frameworks
  • A good understanding of Object Oriented Principles and the ability to write code in at least one OO language, ideally C#
  • Good knowledge of SQL
  • Good understanding of HTTP
  • The Nice-To-Haves:

  • Experience of Performance or Security testing
  • Experience of mobile testing and mobile automation
  • A software engineering background
