As Mobile Application Growth and Distribution Lead for our company in China you will be responsible to help driving both paid and organic downloads of the Android and iOS apps by Chinese consumers for Booking.com BV, one of the world's most successful E-commerce companies. Reaching 4.5 million room nights booked per week, to work at Booking.com stands alongside the likes of Amazon, Ebay and Taobao as a career defining opportunity.

This is a newly formed position within the rapidly expanding China Marketing team and is the first app related marketing role in the organization. This is a significant opportunity to further distribute the app belonging the world's leading accommodation booking website in a priority market.

Together with the China Product and Marketing Director and the marketing department in Amsterdam you will identify distribution partners capable of delivering a high volume of relevant consumers at profitable ROIs into our app products. You will help managing our relationship with these partners, including Qihoo, 360 and Baidu app managers as well as phone makers like Huawei, establishing close working relationships that consistently deliver business value. In addition to ensuring that each store carries the latest version of our product you will adopt best practices with each partner to maximize organic visibility. You will also identify, scope and execute paid campaigns with these partners, coordinate your efforts with other members of the China marketing organization and with the global marketing leaders in Amsterdam. Finally, you will form strong relationships with the teams who manage the global distribution of our app products through owned media.

The role requires a candidate with significant mobile app marketing experience in China. You should bring a focus on research and data led marketing campaign execution as well as the desire to innovate and learn.

This position is a full time position based in Shanghai and will be reporting to the China Product and Marketing Director.

Key responsibilities - Business Development

  • Support Booking.com BV in research, identification and segmentation of app distribution opportunities to increase the number of reservations consumers make through our apps each day,
  • Support Booking.com BV in managing processes leading up to finalizing distribution deals with a focus on app downloads (i.e. prospecting, establishing first contact, meetings, integration and timely follow up),
  • Promote Booking.com BV's brand name and its online reservation services to potential app distribution partners in China,
  • Monitor relevant market developments in the (online) travel industry.

Key responsibilities - Account Management

  • Support Booking.com BV in maintaining and developing a successful relationship with app distribution partners in China,
  • Support Booking.com BV in monitoring the success of each distribution partner and managing relationships in order to maximize the results,
  • Adopt effective and efficient personal working practices, in order to maximize time spent on new business opportunities and account management activity,
  • Align with key stakeholders both in Amsterdam and with external partners.

  • Candidates with experience in marketing of social networking mobile apps or operations of popular apps in China market are preferred.
  • Experienced in online marketing of mobile applications. Good command of marketing skills including SEO search engines, keywords, PPC, alliance marketing, BBS forum promotion, pre-installed channels, media, download site promotion, etc.
  • Experienced in data analysis of mobile apps marketing effectiveness, including downloads, number of users, active users, market share and other indicators, experienced in improving and implementing promotion plan.
