With our launch into Asia at the start of the year, we are looking for a digitally savvy, creative Marketing Director to lead our efforts across South Asia. South Asia* is a market that is passionate about entertainment so we are looking for an individual that shares our desire for connecting people to amazing content. This will be done primarily through digital campaigns promoting the right message to the right person while innovating on the delivery. If this sounds extremely appealing, it could be the right opportunity to join our APAC team and further impact our expansion in the South Asia market.

*Taiwan, Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines and other Asian market excluding Japan, Korea and India.

The role: The Marketing Director will be responsible for overseeing the development of strategy and execution of content campaigns for both global Netflix originals and Netflix Originals for South Asia. This requires intense work with internal teams and marketing partners in order to ensure: strong ownership on campaign along with internal on budgeting and media plan. Further, this person would constantly pursuing innovative ways to make people excited about our content with digital centric marketing. Additionally, it is critical to align with the effort led by our PR, Social Media and Partnerships teams.

The location: This position is based in Singapore reporting to VP of APAC who is also at this office. Frequent travel across South Asia and US is required to ensure proper execution of plans and ensure strong relationships with our partners and online publishers are maintained.

Job Requirements:

Qualifications and what you'll need to bring:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience working in South Asia on entertainment /brand management focused primarily on digital campaigns for local/international brands, focused on innovative campaigns.
  • Manage multi-million dollar media budgets, determine proper media mix allocation and evaluate media effectiveness.
  • Digital expertise. You deeply understand digital marketing and have demonstrated experience launching unique digital campaigns.
  • Consumer marketing know-how. You understand consumer marketing (preferably in the entertainment or consumer technology space) and know how to set strategy and then execute flawlessly.
  • Depth of knowledge on local market. You have considerable experience marketing in South Asia and a strong general understanding of the South Asia market.
  • A history of leadership. You have a successful track record in marketing, serving as a key marketing decision maker.
  • Entrepreneurial. You operate autonomously, are comfortable making and being accountable for big decisions, and are motivated by an internal drive for excellence.
  • Analytical. You are equally comfortable with a rigorous analytical evaluation of a campaign as you are debating its creative quality.
  • Concise and clear communication. You speak Mandarin and English fluently and are effective communicating in both languages.
  • Culture role model. You can thrive in our unique (company culture) and are excited to helps us evolve and improve that culture.
  • We love pop culture savvy people that have invested thousands of hours consuming content on video, film or good old fashioned TV.
  • Think strategically, and articulate what you are, and are not, trying to do - Listen well, instead of reacting fast, so you can better understand.
  • Make tough decisions without excessive agonizing.
  • You are ego-less when searching for the best ideas.
