. This individual will be responsible for leading, developing and mentoring a team of approximately 10 individuals. Specific responsibilities will include:

  • Design, implement and communicate executive compensation strategy and programs. Prepare materials and actively participate in Compensation Committee meetings of the Board of Directors.
  • Direct the design and evolvement of the company's broad based compensation programs including base salary, annual incentive, long term incentive, and sales commissions.
  • Design and develop variable compensation plans for all job levels in order to support business objectives.
  • Lead the evaluation of jobs and the application of existing job classifications, assignment of job levels, salary ranges and FLSA status to positions. Make recommendations for revisions and/or changes.
  • Direct annual market survey and recommendations regarding changes in salary plans, oversee all activity related to published compensation surveys throughout the year and audit survey output, market trends and competitive pay positions to ensure TripAdvisor's salary plans meet overall company goals and objectives.
  • Use extensive knowledge of the health care landscape, and creative benefit design, to implement and manage the company's global health, welfare, and retirement programs ensuring innovative, competitive, cost-effective plans that drive a wellness culture.
  • Contract with and actively manage benefit plan, vendors, auditors, and consultants for services, premiums, and plan administration.
  • Analyze and evaluate services, coverage, and options available through insurance and investment companies to determine programs best meeting needs of organization.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the market dynamics, key competitor compensation and benefit plan design, and industry trends. Innovate in overall plan design and administration to address industry dynamics and to attract and retain the best and brightest workforce.
  • Responsible for ensuring that TripAdvisor's plans comply with country and local laws and regulations, and that processes and controls are in place to ensure ongoing compliance.

Qualifications:

A minimum of 15 years of broad based and progressive experience designing and managing global compensation, benefits and HRIS programs, with a minimum of 10 years in leadership roles. The ideal candidate has previously led the Total Rewards function in a rapidly growing global organization, or has been a strong "number 2" at a larger global organization. Experience in and comfort with working in fast paced, rapidly growing and dynamic organizations is essential.

Demonstrated strategic thinking capability and a track record of innovating and evolving compensation, benefit and equity plan design and administration with the needs of the organization.

Demonstrated track record of designing and developing compensation strategies and plans in a public company environment, to include executive compensation, pay-for-performance, incentive planning, bonus, profit sharing, employee stock purchase, and other compensation vehicles. Prior experience presenting to and interfacing with the Compensation Committee of the Board of Directors is required.

Demonstrable knowledge of state-of-the-art thinking and practices in compensation, benefits and equity administration, with the ability and willingness to dive deep and roll up his/her sleeves when needed.

Demonstrable ability to achieve goals through influencing, partnering and developing productive relationships with senior leadership and line managers across the business. Recognized as the "go to" person for strategic thinking and program design for all compensation and benefits issues.

Solutions-oriented self-starter with a proactive and inquisitive nature who can anticipate and preempt problems.

Previous experience and demonstrated success leading, managing and building teams. Viewed as coach and mentor by team members.

Ability to interact easily across all levels within the organization, tactful, mature, flexible. High level of collaboration and influencing skills. Strong planning, organization, delegation and decision-making abilities.
