Reporting to the VP of Global Brand at TripAdvisor, this role will lead the company's global strategic partnership efforts. This covers:

  • Defining our partnership strategy globally with a goal to enhance TripAdvisor's brand visibility, drive content creation, further engage with hospitality businesses and generate incremental traffic and revenue.
  • Leading our business development efforts to close strategic partnerships with key players in the hospitality, travel, media, mobile sectors and beyond (lifestyle, search, finance etc.), leveraging TripAdvisor's unique assets including our best-in-class user-generated content and review collection capabilities.
  • Managing and developing a global team to achieve desired results and optimize account management efforts to deepen client relationships.
  • Enhancing our suite of products for partners, including our self-service tools for hotels and other businesses.
  • Raising our profile through networking and public speaking at key events

S/he will be responsible for shaping the strategy to meet agreed goals, managing a team of business development and account management professionals, feeding market and client intelligence into the product development process, leading negotiations and managing the implementation of strategic partnerships.

This role will ideally be based in Boston, but could also be based in NYC. Specific responsibilities include:

STRATEGY AND PLANNING

  • Work with Senior Leadership to articulate our partnerships strategy to meet agreed goals and success metrics. Develop the plan, structure and resources to meet agreed targets across the brand distribution, content collection, owner engagement and revenue areas.
  • Work with direct reports to identify and prioritize potential segments for partnerships in all territories, both online, offline and mobile.
  • Work with the Partnerships Product and Marketing teams to develop the Hotel owner engagement strategy, defining new tools that meet owners' needs and associated marketing strategy.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT AND NEGOTIATION

  • Oversee negotiations with key partners and sign-off partnership structures and deal terms, working with the Legal team where necessary.
  • Work with Viator and La Fourchette (newly-acquired TripAdvisor Media Group companies) to create a compelling value proposition for partners including attraction and restaurant booking capabilities.

TEAM MANAGEMENT

  • Manage and motivate a team of professionals to develop and grow business relationships and define processes to optimize both business development and account management efforts in territory.
  • Measure performance of partnerships and identify levers of improvement, designing and analyzing relevant reports, evaluating both commercial and technical performance and identifying further enhancements.

PRODUCT ROADMAP

  • Work with the Product leadership to define the Partnerships product development roadmap, balancing existing partner needs, new partner development and self-service tools.
  • Work with the Partnerships Product and Engineering teams to implement product roadmap, including contributing to specifications, reviewing design plans, developing timelines and monitoring success.CROSS-TEAM COORDINATION
  • Coordinate with other sales teams at TripAdvisor to best leverage business relationships across the company.
  • Work with the Brand Marketing team to align goals and develop appropriate branding messages through partners.
