Position Description The Head of Commercial UK and IE is responsible for driving BEX and GRO scorecard metrics, contributing to a pipeline of tests to innovate in the market and develop a competitive regional trading strategy. Qualified candidates will have retail experience and aren't afraid of complex analysis. They will have a direct impact on revenue, are able to work across multiple teams and use their excellent communication and persuasion skills to influence various levels of the organization. Position Responsibilities Trading and Performance (25%) Leads day to day trading and commercial activities across all lines of business for POSa (UK, IE). Responsible for monitoring and tracking sales performance, coordinating implementation of corrective actions when necessary. Works closely with the marketing channels to give guidance on marketing efficiency and be the 'go to' person for tactical marketing focus. Establish and benchmark commercial performance metrics by POSa, destinations, channels and products. Accountable for budgeting, reporting and analysis of POSa. Commercial Initiatives (50%) Be the local expert for UK and Ireland consumers. Work cross functionally with company-wide teams in Retail, Product, Supply, Marketing and Finance to drive sustainable process improvements across the functions which create year-over-year efficiency. Creating test hypotheses to deliver global and regional strategy (e.g. pricing). Working with marketing to drive customer acquisition and loyalty. Third party business development and relationships. Optimize segments to drive overall performance (e.g. destinations, trip types, devices). Regional Strategy (25%) Develops and executes regional strategy for assigned product lines or significant key product line in order to achieve and maintain product leadership. Understand and measure key drivers of consumer decision journey from shopping, booking, post-purchase and repeat. Participation in regional business P&L to identify opportunities for improvement. Monitor and benchmark competitors, analyse consumer demand for travel related products and services in the region; synthesizing this into product performance enhancements for existing products, and new product requirements to maintain profitable growth. Supervision To Be Exercised Commercial Specialist Supervision To BeReceived Direct supervisionfromCommercial Director, Northern Europe. Required Skills&Experience University degree ideally in a technical or analytical discipline. Excellent written English and strong attention to detail. Strong commercial and trading experience in a retail environment. Analytical skills and high computer literacy, experience in quantitative testing (eg A/B testing) and able to use hard data to back up hypotheses. Strong communication skills, including ability to write compelling, concise documents and present your ideas with passion and persuasion. Ability to influence internal and external decision makers. Demonstrable ability to think on your feet and make smart decisions. Planning, prioritisation and time-management skills. Ability to quickly develop a deep understanding of the travel industry. A passion for change and a love of travel.
