The successful candidate will spend time in our offices in the Princeton, NJ area as well as Boston, MA although they can be based outside those areas. This position reports to the General Manager, Independent Traveler, Inc. a TripAdvisor company.

The ideal candidate will use his or her knowledge of digital media sales to create robust sales plans and operations procedures for our primary site Cruise Critic (a top worldwide cruise media site). The ideal candidate will be an innovator who understands how the marketplace is evolving and can drive sales to exisiting partners as well as new concepts, products and partners from planning to implementation. S/he will have experience leading sales as well as sales planning, sales analytics and ad operations.

What You'll Do:





  • Lead, manage, and mentor the sales team as well as the ad operations team.
  • Own and deliver to the team quota.
  • Analyze success and failures with special attention on changes in business drivers
  • Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual management-level reports, synthesized from numerous sources, focused on actionable data.
  • Identify key success indicators and determine best practices for measurement and reporting
  • Develop partnership approaches outside the set rate card and pursue at an executive level
  • Set and manage sales rules of engagement
  • Partner across functions (e.g. Management Team, Sales, Product, Finance, Marketing).


Job Requirements:

:

  • 5+ years experience managing a team of advertising sellers with responsibility for an annual quota of at least $10 - $15 million
  • 10+ years of media sales experience
  • Recent experience selling to the travel industry is a plus but not a necessity
  • Experience working successfully and energetically on the phone, in groups, as well as with meeting clients in person
  • Experience bundling different types of advertising products (e.g. CPM media, sponsorships, CPC leads, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to think creatively and sell strategically
  • Track record of developing long-term relationships with (and commitments from) clients and agencies
  • Strong analytical skills - metrics focused and driven.
  • Strong leadership capabilities.
  • Sense of urgency.
  • Entrepreneurial passion and innovative mindset.
  • Excellent online, written and verbal communications skills
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills
  • Experienced business judgment: Must be positive, persistent and professional
