Expedia's Customer Operations group is looking for a high-performing Project Manager to join our Bellevue based Project Management team.

The Global Customer Operations ('GCO') group at Expedia is responsible for managing a network of 28 contact centers and nearly 8,000 agents based around the globe. Our agents represent Expedia's person-to-person contact with our travelers, and we strive to deliver world-class customer service with every interaction.

The Project Management team within GCO is responsible for delivering a very large portfolio of complex projects in partnership with stakeholders throughout the business, and Expedia Inc. brands. These range from projects to support brand sponsored initiatives, to GCO initiatives to improve our performance and effectiveness. This is a delivery focused role, which would suit someone who can not only deliver complex projects, but think analytically and has the confidence to challenge where necessary.

The successful candidate will manage a global portfolio of projects, and have the chance to be coached and mentored by a leadership team with veterans who were managers at firms like Bain, BCG and McKinsey. You will have ownership of a projects full lifecycle. You will be expected to:
  • Own the end-to-end project implementation strategy, shaping and defining a project's scope based on detailed analysis and knowledge of GCO's strategy.
  • Lead important strategic initiatives as well as more tactical operational projects.
  • Organize and motivate the resources necessary to deliver these projects within time and budget constraints.
  • Complete rigorous quantitative analysis to support all project decisions, and outcomes. Have a passion for data.
  • Communicate regularly and clearly with the GCO Leadership team.
  • Understand the complexities of handling multiple projects, for multiple brands with impacts to multiple call centre locations.

Job Requirements:


Experience and Skills Required
  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Management consulting experience preferred.
  • Travel and/or contact center experience preferred.
  • Experience driving strategic initiatives while engaging with diverse operational leaders.
  • A successful track record of executing on complex business projects, and leading cross-functional project teams.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels, including concise verbal and written executive-level communications.
  • A self-starter mentality, able to drive projects with limited oversight.
  • Strong quantitative skills. Comfortable with building and vetting complex financial and operational models.
  • Be enthusiastic about international business travel (~10-20%) and travel in general.
  • For clarity, this is NOT a technical, software development PM position, but instead a business change project management role with technology concerns an element of that.
