As part of the Expedia Global Product Team- you will help articulate, define and execute the product roadmap for Expedia's supplier experience. Daily, millions of travelers shop and purchase trips on Expedia - the largest online travel marketplace in the world. The primary goal will be to enhance Expedia's communication platform to our hotel partners to maximize engagement, increase reach, grow customer and partner satisfaction, as well as achieve economic targets.
As Product Manager, you're a passionate product enthusiast with strong influential leadership skills to ensure successful execution of all product development initiatives. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:
  • Build products from existing ideas, and help to develop new ideas based on your industry experience, understanding of Expedia and your regular contact with our Hotel Partners worldwide
  • Drive product discovery working closely with user research, user experience design and engineering teams.
  • Lead end-to-end product delivery, from idea to roll-out, ensuring commercial objectives are met.
  • Enjoy traveling across the world to spend time in the market to understand customer problems, and find innovative solutions for the broader market.
  • Drive communications across multiple teams and geographies including engineering, product and marketing counterparts to define product release requirements.
  • Utilize technical skills to understand high-level architecture and SCRUM/Agile methodologies.
  • Collaborate with product marketing to define the go-to-market strategy, helping them understand the product positioning, key benefits, and target customer.
  • Serve as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering, occasionally working with the sales channel and key customers.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
  • Devising innovative ways to drive engagement with hotel partners and leading ideas all the way to delivery into the hands of the customers
  • Being an engine of creativity in finding ways to use email, SMS and push notifications to drive retention on web and mobile
  • Being a guru on email and be passionate about A/B testing different data-driven approaches to capture and retain the attention of busy hoteliers
  • Building on your great experience around consumer-focused UX and apply them to a B2B context to drive compulsion and action
  • Engaging and managing key stakeholders including Business Development, Product Marketing, Product Management and Engineering to devise a unified roadmap and vision and lead the team to execute that vision
  • Being the definitive product owner of a pod of top engineers and setting the product roadmap and vision for that team
  • Managing the entire product line life cycle from strategic planning to tactical activities, namely: Opportunity Assessment, Product Discovery, Product Development, Release and Commercial Roll-Out
  • Leading and conducting meetings with our Hotel Partners, Sales Team, Brand Leaders and key senior executives to gather and define short term and long term product opportunities. International travel may be required.
  • Managing the product backlog, prioritization and leveraging a strong understanding of the business aided by partnership with stakeholders, analytics, measurement and value hypothesis to drive product priority and investment strategy.
  • Helping define market research, usability research, competitive analysis and best-in-class benchmarking to build new products, functions and features.
  • Monitoring product development processes to ensure they come in on time, on scope, on quality and on budget
  • Helping develop and implement a company-wide go-to-market plan, working with all departments to execute.
  • Owning relevancy and quality of the product throughout its lifecycle.
  • Data-driven focus on measuring and iterating on the ideas that you create and execute.

Job Requirements:


  • University Degree or equivalent
  • MBA degree a strong plus
  • 5 years minimum experience required
  • Strong prior experience driving email communications on consumer or B2B platforms
  • Technical knowledge + experience = awesome!
  • Ability to translate highly ambiguous business issues into structured problems, and to develop well founded solutions in a structured yet creative way
  • Ability to build rapport with business and technology partners, ability to lead by influence
  • Ability to communicate effectively on all levels, including concise verbal and written executive communication
  • Strong top down hypothesis driven approach to analyses, combined with ability to perform in-depth bottom up analyses if needed
  • A passion for data, with very strong quantitative skills. Fully comfortable with financial and operational metrics and analyses
  • Real-time analysis of customer behavior using available data to influence change.
  • Goal-oriented with self-direction and drive
Desirable:
  • Computer Science or Engineering degree or work experience a strong plus. MBA a strong plus.
