The Product Manager for Lodging Services will be responsible for helping to build the global Expedia Inc. Lodging Technology system. A successful individual will work closely with business and technology to define and implement a compelling lodging product. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Working within the Expedia Global Product team, you will participate in creating the strategy and requirements definition for Expedia's Core Lodging Systems as we revolutionize the way lodging is shopped and booked. Lodging is Expedia's largest line of business.

Specific responsibilities include:
  • Define scope and develop agile epics/stories for the global lodging search and pricing engine. Participate in sprint planning, story grooming, and demos, as the product owner. Investigate, define, and prioritize backlog of stories for multiple scrum teams.
  • Set, track, analyze, and communicate the business goals for the lodging product, providing a single point of contact between technology and business.
  • Exhibit a sense of ownership for the success of the Lodging product
  • Coordinate with stakeholders across Expedia Inc. to drive integration of strategic initiatives and align priorities across the organization.
  • Build effective relationships with key internal business teams, with a special focus on building bridges with the diverse business groups that run Expedia's brand organizations (Hotels.com, Expedia.com, Hotwire, and many others) and supplier relationships.
  • Partner with Technical Leaders, Program Managers, and Architects to understand how to develop innovative, revolutionary and disruptive new capabilities.
  • Drive communication at the Executive level including periodic face to face reporting to the CEO, CTO and CFO of Expedia Inc.
  • Keep tabs on emerging trends in the technology industry and drive best practices in the development environment

Job Requirements:

Required Skills / Experience:
  • 5+ years' experience evaluating, investigating, defining, and prioritizing technology business requirements in a role such as Product Manager, or Program Manager.
  • Exceptional analytical skills: Ability to take large, high-level, concepts and systematically decompose into manageable epics, features, and stories.
  • Business acumen: Ability to define key business metrics for determining the success of features prior to implementation. Experience in a test and learn environment a plus.
  • Solid organizational skills: Self-starter with demonstrated strengths managing products in complex, multi-project delivery environments.
  • Ability to evangelize and articulate innovative technology for both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Bridge builder: Proven skills at cultivating strong working relationships and driving collaboration across multiple business and technical teams.
  • Exceptional communication skills: Clear written and verbal communication, both one on one, and to large groups, is a requirement for this role.
  • Proven influencing skills: the ability to manage expectations of business partners while maintaining productive relationships.
  • Technical background: Solid understanding of technical concepts, architecture, software engineering a requirement. Previous experience or education related to software engineering a plus.
  • Advanced MS Office user, including PowerPoint and Excel.
  • Some travel is required for this position. Applicants must have ability to travel Globally, and throughout US
