Sr. Marketing Manager, Outbound Marketing
The Senior Marketing Manager, Outbound Marketing will be a key member of the worldwide marketing team responsible for the strategy and execution of Expedia's global email programs, management of the customer lifecycle and development of emerging marketing channels.
Reporting to the Email Marketing Director, this person will be part of a team that is specifically responsible for direct to consumer marketing communications and promotions. The role requires cross-functional collaboration with various teams across the company including the following, Global Retail to identify and implement new campaigns and programs, Creative resources to develop content, Loyalty to optimize emails for the Expedia+ program, and Media Solutions to manage partner advertising.
In addition, the role will be working closely with Email Operations to execute campaigns and develop automated solutions for Expedia's global email programs. This position is best suited for a highly driven individual with strong outbound marketing knowledge, analytics skills, experience in email program management and automation, customer segmentation and testing, and customer lifecycle management.
Key Responsibilities:
Outbound Marketing Strategy:
  • Manage the US merch program strategy, execution, and optimization to meet significant growth goals.
  • Align and partner with internal teams to grow email channel opportunities including car, air, package, MeSo, loyalty, affiliate, PR, mobile and merch teams.
  • Assist with the development and testing of email 'best practices' regarding travel products, pricing, promotional and customer segmentation strategies.
  • Implement strategies to optimize mobile app usage and conversion.
  • Develop marketing programs for emerging channels including push notifications.
Campaign Execution:
  • Manage email campaigns including targeting requirements, creative requests and final reviews/testing.
  • Assist with the development and execution of multiple weekly and monthly email programs.
  • Assist with email QA and test campaigns for accuracy and platform compatibility.
  • Manage the loyalty email program and partner on loyalty strategy, execution, and optimization for 30+ POS' globally.
Test & Learn Support:
  • Partner with the Test & Learn Manager to plan and execute tests.
  • Deliver against team goals for quantity of tests and revenue/profit impact of those tests.
Marketing Capabilities and Automation:
  • Partner with Email Operations to create new processes and solutions to automate merchandising emails.
  • Develop and scale content sources including integration of internal and external APIs.

Job Requirements:


  • 3+ years email marketing experience
  • 5+ years online marketing experience with mobile app and push notifications experience preferred
  • Experience working as a Product Manager or alongside Product teams is a plus
