The Lead Technician, Operations, leads peers in supporting large refrigeration units through expertise in HVAC and refrigeration as well as other utility related activities. Individual will possess the ability to lead a team, train others, contribute to, and implement process improvements. Individual will possess project management skills to manage reliability improvement project focused on improving the efficiency of all HVAC and refrigeration systems. The Utilities Lead Technician will be proficient in the operation and maintenance of all site utility systems.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



















-Working in conjunction with all appropriate personnel, performs manual and automated operations, general maintenance and support functions necessary for the operation of utility systems.
-Serves on safety, quality and other committees as required.
-Maintains, inventories, and transports all required equipment, materials, supplies and products. Ensures shipment criteria and timely availability and delivery
-Performs general maintenance and assists or ability in troubleshooting of equipment independently
-Performs housekeeping in all work areas.
-Identifies and addresses compliance, environmental, safety, and process deviations as appropriate while notifying appropriate personnel.
-Maintains, cleans and prepares equipment used for utility operations.
-Attends and actively participates in HAZOPS, waste walkthroughs, 5s, kaizen events, or any other operations, lean six-sigma, quality, safety or environmental training/initiatives as required.
-Self-motivated to maintain own training status and ability to train others
-Works independently, trains others, ability to trouble shoot, proficient in SAP (maintenance module, PMs/calibrations, spare parts, KPI's) and familiar with Building Automation Systems.
-Involved in creating scheduling tools, identifies discrepancies within system, ability to investigate and close deviations
-Lead initiatives or demonstrates behaviors that lead to reduction of quality notifications (QN's)
-Ability to prioritize the work of others and leads tasks to completion













Problem Solving:

- Anticipates and solves complex production/operational problems
- Capable of driving feasible solutions to implementation
- Apply Problem Solving Ideas and Strategies using Lean Sigma Tools and methodologies
- Implements continuous improvement projects
- Mentors belt candidates

Education Minimum Requirement:


-10+ years of experience in HVAC or Refrigeration with High School Diploma or Equivalent OR 2+ years of experience with Bachelor degree in Life Science.

Required Experience and Skills:


-This position requires being flexible to work 1st, 2nd or 3rd shift and weekends as required to maintain utility operations. primary 1st shift
-Ability to calibrate temperature controllers and sensors, load cells, speed controllers and pressure gauges
-Demonstrate understanding of 4-20ma control loops.
-Ability to develop, modify and implement electrical schematics for hard-wired control systems, interlocks, etc.
-Ability to test electrical/electronic/mechanical equipment and read, interpret electrical schematics and system P&ID's and troubleshoot from these drawings
-Ability to read and interpret mechanical/electrical drawings and blue prints and have ability to identify components
-Must be willing and able to lift 50 lbs.

Preferred Experience and Skills:








-Military HVAC/Refrigeration preferred
-Ability to trouble shoot using ladder logic program
-Ability to trouble shoot using ladder logic program
-Ability to force/monitor I/O for trouble shooting purposes
-Ability to perform I/O searches and cross-referencing using I/O tables
