Translational Biomarkers is recruiting a Director to implement the departmental vision and strategy to discover, develop and apply PET tracers in support of decision making from target to market by developing the leadership and scientific skils of a group of scientists with imaging expertise, providing expertise in the field of PET imaging, and leading the implementation and/or discovery of novel PET tracers. The successful candidate will:
  • Develop and manage a group of imaging scientists with expertise in PET tracer discovery
  • Foster and set collaboration, teamwork, and transparency leadership standards for the team
  • Align and manage team members and reports to execute on departmental priorities
  • Inform and influence dialogue with supervisor / department and key stakeholders to set goals and objectives
  • Optimize efficiency and productivity (e.g., cycle time, innovation, financial stewardship, communication and collaboration) through effective management of work flow
  • Evaluate sourcing options, qualify potential providers and design work plan as appropriate
  • Provide functional expertise in the area of PET tracer discovery
  • Identify, validate and integrate PET imaging solutions, including the discovery of novel PET tracers, in collaboration with other functional areas and Imaging teams to address questions related to drug discovery programs and projects.
  • Ensure appropriate experimental design and implementation of PET studies to discover, validate, and implement PET tracers
  • Ensure appropriate analysis and interpretation of pre-clinical and clinical PET data and communicate results in a timely manner to program teams and management
  • Ensure timely communication and delivery of high-quality imaging data to Therapeutic Area program teams

Job Requirements:

Qualifications Education:
  • Ph.D.
Required:
  • Experience in the discovery, characterization, and application of novel PET tracers, including PET tracer design, PET study design, and interpretation of PET data.
  • Experience in the clinical translation of novel PET tracers
  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Successful record of leading projects and delivering results to a high quality standard in a timely fashion
  • Demonstrated success in collaborative environments
  • Demonstrated problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to advance the field of PET in drug development through maintainence of own skills/knowledge by keeping up to date on current state of science and practice
  • Ability to understand and implement applicable regulations around animals, pathogens (e.g. virus, bacteria), human cell and tissue use, laboratory safety, health physics and chemical hazards in research.
  • At least seven years of post-Ph.D. experience with a focus on novel PET tracer discovery and translational applications
Preferred:
  • Experience in the discovery, characterization, application, and clinical translation of novel PET tracers designed for non-CNS applications.
