Job Description:

Description Merck & Co., Inc. Kenilworth, N.J., U.S.A. known as Merck in the United States and Canada, is a global health care leader with a diversified portfolio of prescription medicines, vaccines and animal health products. Today, we are building a new kind of healthcare company - one that is ready to help create a healthier future for all of us. Our ability to excel depends on the integrity, knowledge, imagination, skill, diversity and teamwork of an individual like you. To this end, we strive to create an environment of mutual respect, encouragement and teamwork. As part of our global team, you'll have the opportunity to collaborate with talented and dedicated colleagues while developing and expanding your career.

We are looking to fill an Associate Director, Marketing - Biomarker Strategy role supporting permbrolizumab (Keytruda).

This Associate Director is a key member of the US Oncology marketing team for Keytruda supporting the biomarker and companion diagnostics with a primary focus in NSCLC, and broadening pan-tumor responsibilities for future indications. The current Keytruda label for NSCLC is associated with an FDA approved companion diagnostic and there is a need to develop and implement both strategic and tactical marketing programs around the biomarker and companion diagnostic given its impact on drug adoption. This person's main responsibilities will include supporting the market strategy for the companion diagnostic in the US through development and implementation of marketing programs.

These will include (but are not limited to) engagement plans for key stakeholders, refinement of the messaging platform, and development of promotional campaigns for the companion diagnostic as the label continues to evolve. At the same time, this person must ensure full integration of these plans within the overall brand strategy. This person will lead the development of the marketing tools for the companion diagnostic that will be used to drive the strategic choices that enable leadership in what is a highly competitive market. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of companion diagnostics/personalized medicine space. Strong leadership skills and ability to collaborate across the organization, particularly within the broader US and global marketing teams, will be essential. This candidate will need to have strong business acumen and a demonstrated ability to understand and manage key levers that drive growth and profitability. An understanding of the companion diagnostic, oncology market, key drivers, payer and reimbursement levers is a plus.

The position will be based in Upper Gwynedd, PA and will report to the Director - Biomarker and Companion Diagnostics.

This position will require outstanding leadership in many areas of marketing management including field execution, strategy development, market research, segmentation, personal and non-personal promotion, competitive dynamics, and issues management.
