This position reports to the head of the Merck Durham Varicella Bulk Facility (VBF) or Varicella Manufacturing Facility (VMF) and supports activities to manage the various VBF / VMF and site wide initiatives such as facility license, ramp up, cost reductions, compliance improvement etc.. This position requires the ability to distill large quantities of complex data into simplified reporting and actionable measures, rapid disciplined decisions and prioritization of work. The incumbent utilizes a small team of indirect reports to support these initiatives.

-Streamline SOP
-Managing and coordinating meetings
-Generating/analyzing data to support business decisions
-Cross functional project coordination with various divisional and site groups
-Metrics collection and analysis
-Lead the planning and implementation of project
-Facilitate the definition of project scope, goals and deliverables
-Define project tasks and resource requirements
-Develop full scale project plans
-Assemble and coordinate project staff
-Manage project budget
-Manage project resource allocation
-Plan and schedule project timelines
-Track project deliverables using appropriate tools
-Provide direction and support to project team
-Quality assurance
-Constantly monitor and report on progress of the project to all stakeholders
-Present reports defining project progress, problems and solutions
-Implement and manage project changes and interventions to achieve project outputs
-Project evaluations and assessment of results
-Other projects and initiatives as assigned




































Travel: Yes, 10 % of the Time

Job Requirements:

Qualifications

Education Minimum Requirement:


-Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
-Master's degree in Engineering, Operations, Supply Chain, Change Management, Business/Finance highly preferred.


Required Experience and Skills:


-Minimum of 10 years professional work experience to include people, process and project management, preferably in supply chain, manufacturing, integration and/or business operations.
-Minimum of 7 years working in a manufacturing environment in either operations or functional role.
-Strong communication skills and experience in influencing and leading others
-Demonstrated project management and analytical skills
-Must be resilient and adaptable to change
-Proven experience in strategic planning and risk management
-Proficient in project management software
-Proficient in Microsoft Office including Excel and PowerPoint.








Desired Experience and Skills:


-Experience in large-scale organizational change initiatives
-Experience managing against metrics and scorecards in a business environment.
-Experience in lean/six sigma and change management
-Demonstrated ability to understand and integrate data underlining such measures of business performance
