- The primary function of the overall Category Management team is to maximize AXP's purchasing power by developing and driving global category, supplier and sourcing strategies, across multiple categories to reduce total expenses and optimize leverage. - The role's focus includes customer intake management, compliance adherence and communications. The role combines superior customer service with flawless process and project management skills. - End to end contract management including contract drafting, redlining, negotiations of legal terms and conditions - Specific responsibilities may include interfacing with requestors, assessing completeness of documents including intake forms, Statements of Work, contracts etc., gathering and reviewing incoming information to check for overall reasonableness, cleanse and analyze and confirm to GSM requirements, ensuring accuracy of documents, facilitating approvals, following up with clients on status or missing documentation or approvals, identifying and resolving any client issues, reviewing statements of work, rates, following compliance related procedures, interfacing with additional internal departments and third parties, suppliers, agencies, and or customers in following up and or completing requirements, - Support of end-to-end contract management, requiring general knowledge of legal terms and conditions. - Procurement activities supporting customers of all major business units across a broad geographic area, on a national and worldwide basis. - Implementing the organization's strategic and tactical plans while driving action across functions, business units and the Blue Box. - Acting as a key contracting resource to the procurement organization, business partners, and senior management across multiple functions, divisions and geographic locations. - Leading by example to motivate cross-functional team members to achieve team objectives in supplier/market analysis, and utilizing unique procurement practices/tools to capitalize on business opportunities, - Developing strong understanding of AXP policies and procedures, as well as compliance and risk regulations, to appropriately mitigate risk/exposure, - Strong work ethic with an intense will-to-win and ability to work in fluid, fast-paced environment and maintain flexibility to meet changing customer and business needs, - Delivering effective presentations and written communications to internal/external audiences, - Building sustainable relationships within Global Supply Management's internal and external customer base through interactions and reputation as a source of expertise for Procurement activities, - Support AXP change management initiatives and act as the first point of contact for implementing process/policy/technology platform changes within AXP procurement operations, - Identifies opportunities to add value to the business through interaction with the Category Managers within the Global Supply Management organization. - Managing the process of assuring the escalation of critical issues to the appropriate management chain for decisions and problem resolution,
