Jobs in China: Brief Overview

There are very many jobs in China that require English-speaking employees. As well as that, education is important, and many other areas demand people with backgrounds from around the world. Despite the fact that everyone can find a job, certified specialists are in especially great demand.

China employment: what everyone should know

Chinese authorities offer a lot of social programs for employment, but they are mainly designed for the country's citizens. For foreigners to obtain one of the jobs in China for expats is not difficult either. One must only find an institution that's interested in him and make a working visa. The largest number of open jobs are in the following areas:

  • education (teachers and instructors of English or any other language);
  • culture (actors, dancing girls, models, vocalists);
  • managers and logisticians.

An interesting fact is that the employer pays considerable attention to the physical appearance of the applicant. In their view, beautiful people attract customers to the company and thereby increase profits. Also, preference is given to candidates to foreigners, who know the Mandarin language at a conversational level (at the least).

China job opportunities: earnings or experience

First of all, earnings depend on the education level of the candidate. For example, there are a lot of education/teaching jobs in China. Even one, without a special education, is able to give lessons in English in kindergarten or elementary school, with only familiarity with grammar and clear speech. But if the candidate has a degree, they can be paid twice as much money as a candidate without one. The country offers many jobs for students. This is a great opportunity to gain experience in your own profession (or one related to your own), live in exotic countryside and be in touch with ancient culture. To find a job you need to:

  • choose a company, under the requirements which suit your level of education, personal data, and so on;
  • write them a letter describing your interest in the work;
  • attach a resume;
  • attach a copy (or scanned) documents confirming education, diplomas and other.

Chinese Jobs: Opportunities for Youth

Internships are very popular during studies. It enables one to gain a hold of a company and receive a paid position in the future. Feeling like a real Chinese citizen is now possible, thanks to the program called Au pair. These jobs in China for English speakers and other youths consist of carrying out household duties for a small fee (along with receiving free housing and meals). Finally, the last option is freelancing. But even before then, the applicant will have many more tasks associated with obtaining an independent visa, finding accommodation, and so on.
